Recommendation of Clothes
Neither a formal jacket nor a tie is necessary in the symposium, even at the reception.
The climate of Kyoto in summer is very hot and humid. The temperature can be over 30°C and 25°C even at night. We strongly recommend you to wear casual wear such as T-shirts for outside sightseeing.
The local currency is the Japanese Yen (JPY). The current exchange rate is 100 JPY = 0.91 USD, 6.18 CNY, 0.81 EUR, (Data on Jan. 25, 2019). Foreign currency and traveler's checks are not accepted at most stores. Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops. Small restaurants and shops may not accept credit cards. We recommend exchange at the International airport that you will depart from or arrive at.
The secretariat will only accept Japanese yen in cash at the ISPC 2019 Desk.
Participants requiring a visa for entry to Japan are strongly advised to make their application in their home country at least three months before the intended date of travel. For information, please consult your nearest Japanese Embassy or Consulate or your travel agent.
ISPC 2019 will not assume responsibility for medical expenses of attendees at ISPC 2019. All attendees are urged to ensure that they are covered by their own travel and health insurance policies while traveling to and from and while attending ISPC 2019. ISPC 2019 is not responsible for private possessions lost or stolen at the symposium.
